The simulator models the complete RF link between a ground User Equipment (UE) and a satellite in LEO or GEO orbit. It continuously calculates: Satellite orbital position (altitude, inclination, ground track) Elevation angle and slant range to the UE Free Space Path Loss (FSPL) based on frequency and distance System noise temperature and G/T of the receiver Downlink and Uplink CNR using the standard link budget equation Propagation delay and Doppler shift across the pass Link margin versus required CNR for QPSK 1/3 All of this is displayed live on an interactive world map with a satellite footprint, line-of-sight beam, and dynamic charts.
