1. How to configure:
- Set beamFailureInstanceMaxCount (number of failures to trigger recovery).
- Set beamFailureDetectionTimer (slots) – timer restarted after each failure indication.
- Set beamFailureRecoveryTimer (slots) – time allowed for recovery to complete.
- Configure candidateBeamRSList – number of candidate beams available.
- Use Trigger Beam Failure to simulate PHY detection.
- During recovery, you can select a candidate beam by clicking it.
2. What will be the flow:
- Each failure increments the counter; timer restarts.
- When counter reaches max, recovery is triggered.
- Recovery starts beamFailureRecoveryTimer; UE attempts to select a new beam from candidates.
- If a candidate beam is selected before timer expiry, recovery succeeds; otherwise, failure is declared.
3. What student can expect:
- Visual beams (circles) represent the serving beam and candidate beams.
- Failure indications cause the serving beam to flash red; counter updates.
- Recovery phase highlights candidate beams; click one to complete recovery.
4. Recommended button sequence:
- First: Click Trigger Beam Failure a few times to see counter increase.
- Then: Keep clicking until recovery triggers – candidates appear.
- Then: Click a candidate beam to complete recovery.
- Reset to start over.
